Finally got round to putting down some of my thoughts with regard to a Weapon play policy.
In lots of the settings that I visit it is still a hotly debated topic with some staff being more comfortable with the idea than others.
If you are thinking about embracing this play and utilising all of the opportunities that it brings (and I seriously advise that you do). Then it needs to be a journey of development for your whole team and not just a jump in with two feet, otherwise you are likely to fall flat on your face!
The following policy is meant as a scaffold to promote discussion and get you started. There is lots of further reading out there that you can do to support your thinking process.
You will need to add/remove bits so that the content reflects your settings approach. This may well change as you become more confident with managing and using the play which is why it is important the policy is regularly reviewed.
If your setting already had a policy and you would be happy to share it then please send me a copy and I will upload it to the blog!
Please share any thoughts...happy heroing!
